Set on the idyllic North Coast of Egypt, Omar and Naila wanted something minimal and paid homage to Naila’s grandmother’s summer house in Agami, which was inspired by Hassan Fathy.

Found on the balcony of Dena’s flat, I took advantage of the limited outdoor space by designing a built in sofa. I salvaged a corniche that was found at the local Ezbet Belal market for this piece.

For this coffee table, my client wanted generous space to serve food and drinks on since she often entertains groups of friends. The inspiration for two juxtaposed logs came from her love of wood.

This staircase was designed in two minutes in the middle of the Ezbet Belal, a salvage yard in Cairo.  I had spent hours sketching other ideas before our visit, but nothing was the right fit for my soon to be married clients.

Designed for an appreciator of salvaged furniture, the piece started off with a visit to Ezbat Belal, Cairo’s premier district for salvaged architectural pieces.

An eye-catcher in the Gouna House living room, the coffee table incorporates a mid-century base taken from the dining room table and tops it with a piece of glass.
